The Amazon Fire TV Stick is the most popular way to watch IPTV in the UK: it's cheap, plugs into any HDMI port and runs all the best player apps. This guide takes about five minutes from start to finish.

What you need

  • A Fire TV Stick (4K or 4K Max recommended), already set up with your Amazon account.
  • Wi-Fi or an Ethernet adapter.
  • Your iBest UK IPTV login (server URL, username and password). Don't have one yet? Request a free trial.

Step 1: Prepare your Firestick

Enable Developer Options

  1. Go to Settings → My Fire TV → About.
  2. Highlight your device name (e.g. "Fire TV Stick 4K") and press OK seven times until you see "You are now a developer".

Allow unknown apps for Downloader

You'll do this after installing Downloader (step 2): Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options → Install unknown apps → Downloader → On.

Step 2: Install the Downloader app

  1. From the home screen, choose Find → Search.
  2. Type Downloader and select the orange Downloader app by AFTVnews.
  3. Click Download (or Get), then Open.
  4. Allow access to files when asked.
  5. Now return to Developer Options and turn on Install unknown apps for Downloader.

Step 3: Install IPTV Smarters Pro

  1. Open Downloader and click the URL box.
  2. Enter the official download address for IPTV Smarters (we send it with your login) and click Go.
  3. When the file downloads, click Install, then Done.
  4. Choose Delete to remove the installer and save space.

Step 4: Sign in with your details

  1. Open IPTV Smarters and accept the terms.
  2. Choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
  3. Enter:
    • Any name: e.g. "Home"
    • Username and password exactly as sent (case-sensitive)
    • URL: the server address, including http:// and the port number if shown
  4. Click Add user. The app downloads channels, films, series and the TV guide.

Step 5: Start watching

Open Live TV, choose a category and select a channel. Long-press OK to add favourites. Use Install EPG if the guide isn't showing.

Troubleshooting

Buffering or slow streaming

Use the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band or an Ethernet adapter, restart the stick and router, and close background apps. See stop IPTV buffering.

App not loading channels

Check your login carefully (copy and paste helps), confirm your subscription is active and try again. See IPTV login help.

Tips for the best experience

  • Keep at least 1 GB of storage free.
  • Restart the Firestick weekly.
  • Keep a second player installed as a backup.
  • Add a Fire TV Ethernet adapter for match days.
