Your IPTV server address often ends with a colon and a number, like :8080. That's the port number, and the app needs it to connect.
What a port number does
A server can run many services. The port tells your device which "door" to knock on. If it's missing or wrong, the connection is refused — even if your username and password are correct.
Common IPTV port numbers
| Port | Notes |
|---|---|
| 80 | Default for http:// — often omitted from the address |
| 443 | Default for https:// — often omitted |
| 8080 | Very common alternative web port |
| 8000 / 8880 | Other common choices |
| 25461 | Default port for some IPTV panel software |
There's no "best" port — use exactly the one your provider sends.
Where the port goes
http://server.example.com:8080
- Protocol:
http:// - Server:
server.example.com - Port:
:8080
Don't add a slash between the server and the port, and don't add spaces.
Entering the port by login type
- Xtream Codes: put the full address with port in the URL / Server field. Some apps have a separate Port field — then enter the number there instead.
- M3U URL: the port is already inside the link — paste it whole.
- MAG portal: include the port in the portal URL if one is given.
When the port is blocked
Some networks — offices, schools, hotels, public Wi-Fi — block uncommon ports. Signs: works at home but not elsewhere. Try mobile data, or ask us for an alternative address.
Troubleshooting a refused connection
- Check the protocol (
http://vshttps://). - Check the port matches your welcome message.
- Remove any trailing spaces or slashes.
- Restart the app and router.
- Try on mobile data to rule out network blocking.
Why providers use different ports
Load balancing, security and server software defaults all influence the choice. If we change your server address, we'll tell you.
The short version
Copy the server address exactly — including the colon and port — and most connection problems disappear. See also IPTV URL explained and login help.
