Before you assume the worst, work through these steps. Most IPTV problems come from the home network, the device or the app — and are quick to fix.

First: five quick fixes

  1. Restart your device — unplug it for 30 seconds.
  2. Restart your router — wait two minutes for it to reconnect.
  3. Check your subscription hasn't expired (look under Account info in the app).
  4. Try another channel — is it one channel or all of them?
  5. Try a second player app to rule out an app issue.

Black screen or no picture

  • Switch to the HD version of the channel.
  • Change the player's decoder (in Smarters: Settings → Player selection; try Hardware/Software).
  • Turn "Match frame rate" off.
  • Check the HDMI cable and TV input.

Constant buffering or freezing

Go wired, close background apps and lower the quality. Full guide: stop IPTV buffering.

Channels not loading

  • Refresh the playlist in settings.
  • Check hidden channel groups.
  • Clear the app's cache.
  • If nothing loads, check your login and expiry.

Change the audio track or set audio output to PCM — see audio tracks.

After an app update

Clear cache, re-enter your login, or use your backup player — see app updates.

When the problem is the provider

If you've tried everything and several channels fail at once, message support with your device, app, channel names and the time. Good providers investigate quickly.

The technology is legal; what matters is whether content is licensed. See Is IPTV legal in the UK?

Final thoughts

Restart, check your login and expiry, try a second app — that solves most issues. If not, we're on WhatsApp and email.
